A Big Reason To Write Less Centered Aligned Texts in Your Blogs

In this post, I am going to talk about A Big Reason To Write Less Centered Aligned Texts in Your Blogs. You can use different online blogging tools that will help to improve SEO and ranking of your blogging.

But presentation of text in your blog content is very much important. Specially, to get the attention of your audience, your readers.

So the thing is, never use center align for the text which is more than a couple of lines in your blog posts, use left align instead.

The reason for this is that centered aligned texts are usually more difficult to read.

Why does it make centered aligned texts more difficult to read?

See the image below, it has a lorem ipsum placeholder text in a form of a paragraph which is centered aligned.

centered-text

While reading when we end the first line, we have to go all the way back to look for where the second line starts.

Again, at the end of second line, we have to go all the way back to look for the third line and so on. This is okay if you just write a few lines.

But with large paragraphs its really frustrating for me as a reader and very likely I would stop reading the posts in a blog if every other post has same text alignment.

Why is it easy to read text with left aligned?

Now, see the image below, it has the same lorem ipsum placeholder text in a form of a paragraph which is left aligned.

It can be clearly seen that the readability of left aligned text is much more clear than the centered aligned text.

I totally agree, having too much centered texts makes reading difficult. I try to save those for small quotes (trying to show a point etc) instead of throughout.

I rarely use this, only for emphasizing a quote. Always use left-aligned.

Left aligned text is easier to read than centered text for paragraphs. This is because when you center your text, the starting place of each line changes. … This makes your paragraphs faster and easier to read because the user’s eyes don’t have to work as hard to find where the line starts each time.

Sometimes I use center aligned texts to give different format but I agree that it makes it difficult to read and is not a good practice.

Thanks for the insightful post. I see the logic, but I personally find center alignment easier to read.
